Dear Friends,
We have been struggling with the decision of what is best for us to serve Jesus. Not with man’s rules and borders but with an open heart and mind and leading by God.
Due to the doctrine of men, the horrible mishandling of sexual abuse and the same leaders that covered this up still in charge, we are stepping away from meetings. We are NOT stepping away from serving Jesus. By attending meetings, we feel we are supporting this toxic and abusive behavior.
On this issue, we have had a son physically assaulted by a brother worker on the convention grounds. Our daughter was harassed and pursued by two different brother workers. This has affected both of them even to this day. So this is personal for us.
When people are so engrossed in believing this is the one true way they can never correct or address the sexual abuse issues. Workers just want to protect the “way” not the sheep. One ex-worker commented that it’s just easier to just not believe allegations and ignore them.
It’s a hard decision after so many years but God has opened our hearts to so much more. We have been blessed and feel hopeful for a closer relationship with our Father.
We are not cutting off anyone so welcome conversations any time. The belief that this is the only way has caused those that make other choices be shunned. Very sad. Thankful that being a child of God doesn’t hinge on what church you go to but what’s in your heart.
Love,
